Safety
The source for Normalization is only suited for using in PET/MR-systems. The source is supplied closed/sealed by
Eckert & Ziegler. You will find the respective manufacturer certificate in
Certificate for Normalization Phantom.

Hazard of injury (also irreversible) caused by radioactive substances. The phantom contains the radioactive isotope Ge68. - •
- The phantoms may only be used by trained and qualified personal familiar with the applicable national and local radiation and safety regulations.

- Always observe all safety-related information given in the accompanying documentation by Eckert & Ziegler.

In compliance with the local and national radiation safety regulations use the following safety equipment as e.g.:

- Personal dosimeter.
- ▪
- Personal protective equipment should be worn, which includes lab coat, gloves and safety glasses.
- ▪
- Avoid direct contact with the source. Follow the safety aspects given by the local radiation safety regulations.

Property damage caused by improper handling. - •
- Observe the following instructions and all safety-related information to avoid damaging the phantoms.
- •
- Avoid any kind of mechanical influence which could damage phantom, like e.g. bumps or shakes.
- •
- Before taking the phantom for imaging, ensure the corresponding source is not leaking.
- •
- Set-up the acquisition so it is ready to start once the phantom is in position.
- •
- Do not leave a source inside the instrument longer than necessary.
