Installation
Prerequisites
- ▪
- The cable slap of the ATS has to be equipped with the additional hoses used for the 3 Mice Animal Cradle (set P/N T174666 MMPF ATS CABLE SLAP 2/3 MICE). This is typically performed by Bruker Service.
Note that installation by yourself will waive warranty of the instrument.
- ▪
- Non-magnetic 2 mm allen key.
- ▪
- Connection cables to interface to SA Instruments Animal Monitoring modules (where applicable):
- –
- T175153 MMPF ATS2/3 MICE A. TEMP INSIDE
- –
- T175154 MMPF ATS2/3 MICE A. TEMP OUTSIDE
Instructions
The 6 hoses at the 3 Mice Animal Cradle (3 for anesthesia supply and 3 for respiratory monitoring) are to be cut according to the length of the Animal Cell Extension (ACE):
- ▪
- For PET/CT instruments, use 23 cm.
- ▪
- For PET/MR instruments, use 36 cm (this is the delivery default).
Hoses at the 3 Mice Animal Cradle: 3 for respiratory monitoring (green) and 3 for anesthesia supply (purple).
Length required for PET/CT and PET/MR.
Do not yet connect the Luer couplings to the hoses: you need to feed the through the ACE, first.
In order to connect the additional hoses to the instrument, first open the feedthrough lid at the animal cell extension (ACE) using a non-magnetic (for MR instruments) screwdriver i.e. a 2 mm allen key.
Then feed the purple anesthesia hoses of the animal cradle through the rectangular feedthrough in the ACE interface so that they exit on top of the ACE where you opened the lid.
Repeat this step for the green respiratory monitoring hoses.
When all 6 are in place, connect the cradle to the ACE using the quick lock.
Connect the Luer couplings to the hoses according to the figure above – note that they are different for anesthesia supply and 3 for respiratory monitoring!
Finally, the anesthesia and respiratory monitoring hoses exiting on top of the ACE must be connected to their counterparts in the cable slap of the animal transport system (ATS). Note the numbering on each hose!
