Coil insertion and fixation
Insert the coil from the service end of the magnet. The correct coil position is given by the fixation hook of the coil (red arrow). Push the coil gently until the hook touches the end plate of the gradient set. Turn the coil counterclockwise by approximately 30° and fix the coil with the coil fixation screw. Make sure that the coil fixation screw clamps the coil.

Coil connection
For PharmaScan instruments, connect the coil to the T/R socket.
For BioSpect, connect the coil connector to the red color coded socket 1H High Power.
Coil adjustment
The surface coil is pre - tuned and matched to a rat whole body load.
The tune and match conditions can be changed, see service instructions.
ECG Electrode
The usage of ECG electrodes has an impact on the tune and match condition of the resonator. Best results are obtained when the electrodes are aligned on the left hand side of the animal bed in a horizontal position.
