Handling

The animal can be prepared on the RF Coil in front of the magnet or at a separate location.

In the latter case, you need to transport afterwards the animal to the magnet. We recommend to place it at the side of the ATS and then push the plug and cable from the front through the instrument. This requires some time and the animal will not be anesthesized during that time. Therefore, we provide the Anesthesia Hose Set shown below:

Insert the 3-way connector between the anesthesia supply (from the lab) and the instrument at the hoses interface right hand side of the instrument. The anesthesia hose located there supplies anesthesia to the animal cell extension (ACE) and thus to the animal cradle when the cradle is connected to the ACE.

Temporarily, while pushing the cable through the instrument, the cradle is not connected to the ACE. During that period of time, one can supply anesthesia to the animal by appropriately setting the 3-way connector and connecting the other end of the hose via the 90 deg. Luer to the toothbar of the animal cradle. Note that during that time WAG is not removed from the nose cone and occupational standards need to be fulfilled.

Once the RF Coil cable is through the instrument and the cradle is connected, you swap at the tooth bar the temporarily hose to the RF Coil anesthesia and turn the 3-way connector to support now the hose going through the ACE connector into the cradle.

Anesthesia hose set (P/N T180865) for temporarily use while the RF Coil/Animal Cradle is not connected to the animal cell extension (ACE) at the ATS and is thus not supported with anesthesia supply. The 90 deg Luer is to be attached to the tooth bar at the animal cradle.
