Cabinets and Electronic Components
The spectrometer control cabinet (1) contains the components for the small signal generation of excitation RF pulses (SGU/2), MRI signal reception (RXAD/2, DRU), the digital pulse sequence controller (ISPO) as well as the power and communication management devices of the scanner.
The cabinet(s) for high power components (2/2a) contain(s) the shim and gradient interface (GRASI/2), the high power RF transmitter for signal excitation (BLA transmitter), gradient current amplifier (Copley or IECO gradient amplifier) and the shim current amplifier (BSPS).
Depending on the gradient configuration, either one or two cabinets for high power components are installed.
The dual loop heat exchanger cabinet (3a) or the stand-alone gradient chiller (3b) provides cold water to cool the gradient and the USR magnets.
