Connecting the Coil

For AVANCE™ III (or higher) MR instruments, connect the 1H TX/RX MRI CryoProbe™ plug with the red socket labelled 1H High Power for AVANCE™ III or 1H/19F TX/RX for AVANCE™ III HD instruments.

 

RX-only Array CryoProbes are to be connected to the orange socket labelled 1H Low Power for AVANCE™ III and RX-only for AVANCE™ III HD instruments.

 

1H/X CryoProbes have two plugs. Connect the 1H channel to the red socket and the X-nucleus channel to the blue socket labelled X High Power for AVANCE™ III or X-BB for AVANCE™ III HD instruments.

 

The coils will be automatically recognized in ParaVision® 5 and 6.

 

At AVANCE™ I and II instruments, the MRI CryoProbe™ is permanently wired. Manually select the appropriate coil configuration within ParaVision®.

 

NOTICE
Risk to damage the CryoProbe

MRI CryoProbes are highly integrated and technically demanding devices. Inadequate handling may cause damage to the CryoProbe.

  1. Always connect the CryoProbe to the corresponding socket.
  1. Do not operate the MR Instrument while the CryoProbe is located in the magnet but not connected to the RF coil socket.
  1. Do not operate a transmit / receive CryoProbe together with any other RF coil in the scanner.
