Using MASS
The Mobile Animal Support System (MASS) is a flexible manual animal positioning system compatible with BioSpec instruments with a 40 cm magnet bore. The positioning system consists of three principal units:
- The mobile animal support trolley with a stationary mounted slide rail.
- A positioning unit with a variety of cradles.
- A magnet mounted slide rail extension with a laser line light attached.
There are two basic versions of the positioning unit for alternating use:
- A large sliding carriage with a brake fixture including a push rod with ruler. The skateboard-like carriage is supporting a half-shell animal cradle suitable for larger animals like non-human primates (NHP).
- A small triangular sliding carriage with a brake fixture including a push rod with ruler. The standard AUTOPAC/MANPAC animal cradles can be attached to the triangular sliding carriage.
