System ON/OFF Switch
The MR instrument has an electronic ON/OFF Switch to switch the different components of the instrument all in one ON and OFF (see Switching ON/OFF the Instrument).
It enables the startup/shutdown procedure of the different components. Although most components located in the magnet room are powered off when turning the Switch to OFF, it does not serve as an entire Emergency OFF since it leaves voltages in the electronic cabinets in the Technical Room present, even when switched off. Also, the magnetic field remains.

The electronic ON/OFF Switch is installed at an easily accessible location close to the operator console. Every user should be familiar with the position of the switch. It is recommended to check in regular intervals the free access to the switch.
