Installing RF Coils
Please follow the safety aspects listed below when handling RF coils.
NOTICE
The RF coils and the sample can easily be damaged.
- Never install RF coils with damaged housing or damaged cables.
- Before any of the coils for MR experiments is used, ensure always that all plugs of the RF coil configuration are connected properly.
- Handle RF coils with great care.
- Avoid each kind of mechanical influence mirrors (bumps or shakes), which could damage to the RF coils.
- Take great care to avoid liquids entering the coil housing.
- Do not overwind the tuning or matching rods.
- Ensure that the sample is safe and firmly placed, and will not be damaged when inserting in or removing out of the magnet.
- Be particularly circumspect when mounting RF coils on living animals.
NOTICE
The receive-only coils can easily be damaged, if they are not properly connected to the socket(s) or used with the wrong coil configuration.
- Ensure that coils inside the transmission coil are correctly connected to the socket.
- Ensure that the correct coil configuration is selected.
