Who we are
The Servei de Ressonància Magnètica Nuclear (SeRMN) at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is the Scientific-Technical Research Support Service encompassing the building, amenities, research equipment, and economic, personnel and management resources aimed at obtaining nmr spectra and images from liquid, semi-solid, solid and live samples. A brief description of the equipment and techniques currently available can be consulted at our official website, there you will also find the list of personnel working at the SeRMN.
Who can use the SeRMN?
Our NMR Facility is open to researchers from UAB departments and institutes, as well as to researchers from other universities, research institutions, and private companies. Most of our users obviously come from the Barcelona area, but we also have on-going collaborations with researchers from other Spanish and European research centres, and even with overseas institutions.
If you want to benefit too from our expertise in applying the NMR technique to many areas of research, just contact us either by email to or through this blog contact form.
Where to find us
Our facility is located in the campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, in Cerdanyola del Vallès, near the city of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. You will find here detailed information about our location: our post address, contact phones and guidelines on how to arrive.
Why this blog?
The goal of this blog is to publicize the research done at the SeRMN, as well as to report the features and capabilities of the instruments available at our facility, and to explain how to make the best use of the NMR technique in multiple research fields. Posts are open to comments, indeed, we will appreciate your feedback and will certainly take into account your opinion to improve our service.
