New cutting-edge MRI and NMR equipments will arrive at the SeRMN-UAB

SeRMN-UAB Secures €3.13M in EQC2024 Funding to Revolutionize Magnetic Resonance Infrastructure!

The UAB’s Magnetic Resonance Service (SeRMN) has achieved a major milestone in the 2024 Infrastructure Call (EQC2024) with the approval of two groundbreaking proposals led by Dr. Teodor Parella, securing a total of €3.13 million to modernize its cutting-edge scientific MRI and NMR equipment:

🔹 Upgrade of a 7 Tesla Biospec 70/30 Magnetic Resonance Scanner (MRI) – €1,812,566.45
🔹 Acquisition of 400MHz and 600MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometers – €1,320,014.56

This transformative investment will redefine the SeRMN’s capabilities, addressing the obsolescence of existing equipment and enabling world-class research in magnetic resonance. The funding will support:

Renewal of the 7T Biospec MRI system
Upgrade of the 600MHz AVANCE II NMR spectrometer
Replacement of outdated 400MHz AVANCE III and 250MHz AVANCE NMR spectrometers

With this significant upgrade, SeRMN-UAB is set to enter a new era of scientific excellence, enhancing research capabilities and reinforcing its leadership in magnetic resonance technology!
