was honoured at the 56th Experimental Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Conference (ENC) with the Ritchey Travel Award for her Ph.D. Thesis research on “Development and application of modern pure shift NMR techniques and improved HSQC/HSQMBC experiments”. A new method has been developed for selecting MRI contrast agents with better expected in vivo performance. This method requires only a very small amount of contrast agent (e.g. 5 nmols/animal, 800 times less than the quantity necessary for in vivo administration) and allows to carry out a more rationally informed candidate selection, avoiding unnecessary in vivo and toxicology tests for the ex vivo poorly performing substances, consequently reducing animal needs, material consumption and overall costs. Last 21st May 2014 I defended my PhD Thesis entitled: Modern NMR Methodologies for the Measurement of Homo- and Heteronuclear Coupling Constants in Small Molecules
The dissertation is focused on the development of modern NMR methodologies for the measurement of homo- and heteronuclear coupling constants in small molecules, and is presented as a compendium of eight (8) publications that have been published in several peer-reviewed journals as original research papers.
